Material

• DK yarn color: Grey, Red and White.
• One pair of 9 mm safety eye
• 3 mm crochet hook
• Tapestry needle
• Polyester fiberfill
• Plastic poly granules (optional)

Size

The cat is 18 cms tall (excluding ears).

Body

Rnd 1: With Grey, 6 sc in magic ring. (6)
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st around. (12)

Rnd 3: (Sc in next st, 2 sc in next st) around. (18)

Rnd 4: (2 sc in next st, sc in next 2 sts) around. (24)
Rnd 5: (Sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st) around. (30)

With Black, embroider nose and mouth.

Ear

Rnd 1: With Grey, 5 sc in magic ring. (5)

Rnd 2: Sc in each st around. (5)
Rnd 3: 2 sc in each st around. (10)
Rnd 4: Sc in each st around, leave long end for sewing, fasten off. (10)

Tail

With Grey, ch 25, dc in 4th chain from hook, dc in next 21 chs, leave long end for sewing, fasten off. Sew the top part and bottom part together.

Collar

Row 1: With Red, ch 5, sc in second chain from hook, sc in next 3 chs, turn. (4)
Rows 2-15 are working in back loops only.
Row 2-14: Sc in each st around. (4)
Row 15: Sc in each st around, leave long end for sewing, fasten off. (4)

Finishing

Sew head to the body.
Sew ears on rnds 5-9 of head.
Sew mouth on rnds 11-13.
Sew tail on rnd 9 of body.
Put collar around the next and sew both ends together.

Tiny Christmas Hat - free crochet pattern

Little Gnomes with Mushroom Houses: New Amigurumi crochet pattern

For the winter I wrote a new crochet pattern: Little Gnomes. These gnomes are secretive creatures from the tundra of Lapland. They spend most of the year underground making and baking sweet treats. On the days nearing Christmas they get more active and then, on that special day (Christmas), they hitch a ride on Santa's sleigh and deliver sweets to everybody. Christmas gnomes are also very wise, wiser than their cousins, the garden gnomes. These dolls are inspired by Scandinavian folklore: a Tomtenisse. A Tomtenisse is a little creature no more than 3 feet with a long beard and colorful clothes.

I made a new pattern for a Gingerbread Man. A Snowman pattern will finish this weekend. I'm still working on the Santa Claus. These dolls are 16" (40cm) high. The Gingerbread Man is very cute.
